RB Vacuum Emulsifier Mixer — Separate Emulsifying Pump for Low-Headroom Plants

The homogenizer is an independent emulsifying pump piped to the vessel bottom — a horizontal inline machine that stands beside the tank, not above or below it. That makes it the right choice when headroom is limited, and because the pump is a separate unit, maintenance is easier than on the other two types. Two agitator types are combined. The vessel does not tilt as standard, but can be built to tilt on request.

Best for: High-viscosity cream, ointment and toothpaste — especially where ceiling height is limited.

HOW IT WORKS

Inside the RB

The homogenizer is a horizontal inline high-shear machine mounted outside the vessel. Pipes run from the discharge valve to the homogenizer inlet, and from its outlet back to the top edge of the vessel.

Inside the vessel a frame agitator turns slowly clockwise; its Teflon blades scrape the wall. One side of the impeller moves product up, the other side moves it down, so the batch rolls over continuously.

Product is cut, sheared and emulsified through the shear gap of the three-layer toothed rotor and two-layer toothed stator, then jets out through the pipeline and returns to the tank for another pass. The inline homogenizer also works as the transfer pump for discharge.

STANDARD BUILD

Materials, Vacuum & Controls

Materials & finish

All product contact parts are made of SS316L, polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 μm. Steam, electric and thermal-oil heating are all available, with jacket cooling — tell us which utility you have and we will build the vessel around it.

Vacuum

A 2BVA series water-ring vacuum pump is fitted as standard, working at -0.08 MPa and pulling down to 33 mbar (97% vacuum). With an air ejector the system reaches 10 mbar. The pump runs on a mechanical seal and stays below 62 dB.

Controls & electrics

Standard build: Siemens PLC with a Weinview HMI touch screen, Delta variable-frequency drives and CHINT switchgear. Prefer another brand? We build to Schneider — and others — on request.

COMPLIANCE

Certification & Documentation

CE / ECM

CE marked. Our range is certified by Ente Certificazione Macchine (ECM), Italy, to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, against EN ISO 12100:2010 and EN 60204-1:2018 — certificate No. 3J260508.JGMDT35, valid to 07 May 2031.

cGMP

The machine specification complies with cGMP regulations: contact parts in SS316L polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 μm so the vessel cleans down, a spray ball for your CIP cycle, material certificates for traceability, and FAT video before shipment.

Documentation

Every machine ships with its EU Declaration of Conformity, material certificates, hydrostatic test report, FAT video and operation manual.

LIFT

With a Lift, or Without

Two versions of the same machine. The RB is built up to 5,000 L. Up to 2,000 L, you choose: with the hydraulic lid lift, or without. Above 2,000 L — the 3,000 L to 5,000 L sizes — every machine is built with a fixed cover, no lift.

STANDARD

With hydraulic lid lift

  • Hydraulic lid lift — the lid raises clear of the vessel, so you clean and service it without dismantling
  • Full access to the agitator, the homogenizer and the vessel wall
  • Faster batch changeover, easier day-to-day maintenance
  • Fitted as standard on every size up to 2,000 L
  • Not offered above 2,000 L — but the machine itself carries on to 5,000 L
OPTION · LOWER PRICE

Without lift

  • Same vessel, same homogenizer, same emulsifying performance
  • Lid stays in place — cleaning and service take longer
  • Lower purchase price
  • Also available up to 2,000 L
  • The only version above 2,000 L — every RB from 3,000 L to 5,000 L is built this way

Not sure which one you need? Ask us — we quote both versions side by side so you can compare before you decide.

Build It Your Way

Standard build is 380V / 50Hz / 3-phase with push-button control. Everything below is available on request.

Trialling a formulation before you commit? Our lab machines run 5 / 10 / 20 / 30 L and are built as floor-standing units — the same technology as the production range, not a benchtop rig.
